I have a AMD based desktop from 3-4 years ago that’s working perfectly fine as a Linux desktop box - except that it doesn’t suspend to either ram or disk when I’m not using it.
I’m about to get rid of the PC, unless I can get this fixed somehow. Dell doesn’t have any more BIOS updates and the ubuntu bug has expired and no one seems to care.
Based on the bug trail, it smells like this was working with ubuntu 9.10 + BIOS 1.1.14, but was broken in later kernels. More specifically, the kernel is not able to enter suspend (based on what the LED shows).
Any ideas on how to save my PC and keep the planet green?
